Snow Shelters Clinic & Outing

Saturday, February 11, 2017 - 8:00am to 6:00pm

At this on-campus workshop, learn how to recognize and avoid avalanche terrain, practice beacon use, and review snow pit assessment and emergency snow shelter construction. This clinic is a required pre-trip if you wish to attend the Saturday outing. Sign up at the OP Office in the EMU - $5. If you attend the clinic, consider applying your newfound skills in the field during our Saturday follow-up outing at Willamette Pass. Explore avalanche terrain, conduct snow pit analysis, and practice emergency shelter construction. Participants can use cross country skis, snow shoes, or skin on skis or splitboards. Cross country skis, snow shoes, and splitboards are available for rental at the OP Barn. Sign up at the OP Office in the EMU - $15.

Cost: 
$5 for the clinic $15 for the optional outing
