Global Zero's Annual Bike Around the Bomb

Event Date:
Sunday, August 9, 2015 - 10:30am

What would a nuclear blast look like in Eugene? Join Global Zero and the UO Bike Program as we cycle 12 miles around what would be the edge of a “small” nuclear blast in Eugene in remembrance of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and to raise awareness of the dangers of nuclear weapon proliferation. Bike Around the Bomb is free, open to the public, and will bring everyone from Global Zero movement leaders to brand new activists together to urge world leaders to remember and to act.

We will begin the morning with various speakers who will share their personal experience in regards to nuclear weapons and advocacy, and then depart on our bike ride at 11:02 after a moment of silent reflection.

Bring ample water and ample friends to commemorate the past and raise awareness for a better future!
