Beachside Geology

Beachside Geology

Interested in the geology of Oregon? Spend the day exploring the Oregon Coast with experts in paleontology! We will be partnering up with the University of Oregon Geology Department and the UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History to facilitate an educational trip. Participants will learn the basics of coastal geology and how to properly identify fossils. Stops include Beverly and Nye Beaches as well as tide pools near Devils Churn. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Bring bottled water and a sack lunch. Transportation and light snacks provided. Rain or Shine. Please bring a $5.00 deposit to the pre-trip meeting to reserve your spot.

Please note that this trip is limited to about 20 participants in order to preserve the quality of the learning atmoshere.
