Bike Loan Program

In 2008, we started a small Bike Loan Program offering 20 bicycles to students. Today we have over 100 bicycles in the fleet. Students may check out available bikes for 1-3 terms. To borrow a bike, a student must be enrolled at the University of Oregon.

To borrow a program bike, students should fill out the form below. Bike Program staff will determine if there is an appropriate bike available and contact students at the beginning of the term with bike availability. A $65 deposit and a $20 per term use fee are due at the time of check-out. The deposit will be refunded at the time the bike is returned if the equipment is accounted for and in good condition.

UO Bike Program refurbishes abandoned bicycles for our fleet. We reuse bikes donated from Lane Transit District, Eugene Police Department and Eugene Parks and Recreation instead of purchasing new bikes because it is the most sustainable way that we can provide access to active transportation. With the help of volunteers and student mechanics, we refurbish the bikes and outfit them with everything a student commuter needs to have a comfortable ride, including front and rear lights, a basket, fenders, u-lock, and helmet.
